Come As You Aren't- A Role Playing Game For Adventurous Couples

Image
The presentation of this game is great. It comes in a small decorated cardboard box that slides out of it's cover with a silky gold-ribbon tab. The cards each have their own section. The game didn't really come with rules, but it seems pretty straightforward. There is a nice black envelope with the words "For Your Eyes Only" that appears you stick one of each of three categories of cards into. The categories are "Where", "What" and "Who". The back of the box indicates that you should leave the envelope for your partner to find. Those are the only real suggestions. The cards are all creative and fun. It's a cute game that I could see all types of couples playing. From new couples trying to get to know each other better, to seasoned couples who need something new and different. I think this game could make a great bachelor or bachelorette party present without being too embarrassing for either party. This game is still fun for shyer peo

Manga Art By Mark Crilley Review

This book is beautiful. Hands down. The illustrations are simply breath taking. Even if you aren't interested in drawing, this is a great book to admire. It takes you through step by step how to draw characters, backgrounds, etc. It even has a fun section about Sci-Fi. I liked getting to know the authors background a little bit, I thought that was a nice touch. It would make the perfect gift for the Manga lover in your life.  *I received this book in exchange for my review from Blogging For Books, but all opinions are my own.

My Review for How To Pack: Travel Smart for Any Trip by Hitha Palepu

Image
I am not a traveler. I'm a mom, who started a direct sales business and I work from home and care for my children and my husband. I love my direct sales business, and it's ended up opening some doors for me. In February I traveled to Philadelphia for an Empower Me Pink mini training. It was thrilling and stressful and amazing all at once. Now I am headed to Las Vegas, NV in just over a week. Las Vegas! I can't believe it. A small-town girl from Maine is going to Las Vegas for a jewelry convention. Just after I purchased my ticket, I found "How To Pack- Travel Smart for Any Trip" By Hitha Palepu on Blogging for Books. It was a sign. I had to have it. Who doesn't want less stress when they travel? The time was now, I picked up the book and devoured it.  There is extremely practical advice in this book. Some of the book is not for me. I'm not a business traveler, but a lot of it can be adapted for my particular instance. This lady is clearly much more p

Batgirl At Super Hero High (DC Super Hero Girls) Review

I got this in audio book form and it written by Lisa Yee and read to us by Mae Whitman. For starters, Mae Whitman did a phenomenal job reading this book. She was perfect. The book itself, I had a bit of trouble getting into the story at first, only because my children were definitely too young for it (3 year-old girl and 8 year-old boy) and I was trying to answer a lot of their questions. The story itself was very uplifting and I think would be a wonderful book for younger girls. Learning that being unique isn't bad. I think it addresses a lot of issues that girls are faced with in a positive way. I will be hanging onto this book, because I'm sure it will be loved. **I received this book free for reviewing purposes, however all opinions are my own.

Warren the 13th and The All-Seeing Eye

*Possible Spoiler Alert* This was a really cute book by Tania del Rio.  There was a contest and I was given this book as a prize. I wasn't sure what it was about when I started reading it, but it's a great book. I think my kids would enjoy it also. It's not a book for grown ups necessarily but if you can appreciate a good story, you'll like this book. Poor Warren is an orphan being raised by his inattentive uncle and evil aunt is a run down hotel that he will inherit someday. Nobody has been the the hotel in years, when one day they get a strange guest. After that Warren finds out about his heritage and courageously saves his friends and the hotel. I received this book for free but all opinions are honest and my own.

Junie B Jones First Grader (at last!) First Ever Musical Edition Review

I got this book as an audiobook, which is exciting for me because reading is so important and finding ones that my kids will enjoy is important to me. The book was written by Barbara Park and narrated by Lana Quintal. The book is written with cute language that you could expect a typical 6 year-old to use. I guess it could potentially teach your children the wrong way to speak, but that isn't an issue for me. The narrator has the cutest, perfect voice for this book. She did a fantastic job. The book is about Junie B entering the first grade and her struggles with peers, her teacher and finding out she needs glasses.  The first disc is the book itself and the second is 15 fun songs about the book. The songs weren't as much fun for me as listening to the book itself. They aren't bad, I just really liked the book. I would definitely recommend this book for long trips or even while you color and play. I'm definitely going to check out more Junie B books. *UPDATE* My kids

Doodletopia Faries by Christopher Hart

First, this is not the type of book I usually go for. I am not artistic in the least bit. I am crafty, but seeing things in my head and getting them to come out on paper or otherwise has always been a challenge for me. Needless to say, I wasn't very hopeful, but it looked like so much fun, how could I resist? It's a very nice book. With good instructions, and great illustrations. I was surprised to find that it is not a small book. It's a nice big book so you can see what it is they want you to do. The written instructions were just okay, but if you just copy what the illustrations are telling you to do, even an art wannabe like me can make a pretty cool picture! I even bought a special little book to draw my fairies in. I think this is just as fun and relaxing as coloring, but you get to create something. Something of your own! So if you want to create something that's easy and fun, I definitely recommend this book. *I got this book for free in exchange for my re
