Jack and Jill (Alex Cross #3) Review

Recently I read Jack and Jill (Alex Cross #3) written by James Patterson. There is no doubt that this book is well written with well loved characters. I, myself, have a hard time connecting with any of them on a personal level. I find I'm more wrapped up in the whodunnits. These are definitely the type of book I enjoy, however, I like to be able to guess who is the bad guy. Sometimes I feel like they're throwing so many characters and details at you at once that you don't have a prayer of sorting them out, which was the case for me in this book. They were fairly blunt about Jill but there were many questions about her that I wanted answered that weren't. Why she felt the way she did, etc. I really felt that we could have benefitted from more of a backstory on Jack and Jill. There was a lot going on in this particular book, but I still enjoyed reading it. I'm definitely going to continue with this series.

I got this in audio book form and it written by Lisa Yee and read to us by Mae Whitman. For starters, Mae Whitman did a phenomenal job reading this book. She was perfect. The book itself, I had a bit of trouble getting into the story at first, only because my children were definitely too young for it (3 year-old girl and 8 year-old boy) and I was trying to answer a lot of their questions. I read "Think Happy, Instant Peptalks to Boost Positivity" By Karen Salmansohn. I'm on a new spiritual mission in my life to be more positive and try to bring more harmony and positivity into my life, so this seemed like a great choice for me. I have a whole Pinterest board dedicated to being positive and changing the way you think so you can have a happier life. Now onto the book! This book is broken down into different sections, so that you can assess the situation and decide which section you need at that very moment. It has very nice illustrations and detailed explanations of why the author is giving the advice she's giving. My personal opinion is the book was very cutsey, which was not what I was looking for. I'm a practical person, and I like practical advice. Manga Art By Mark Crilley Review

This book is beautiful. Hands down. The illustrations are simply breath taking. Even if you aren't interested in drawing, this is a great book to admire. It takes you through step by step how to draw characters, backgrounds, etc. It even has a fun section about Sci-Fi. I liked getting to know the authors background a little bit, I thought that was a nice touch.
